Welcome to Languages Alive
... the space to be, to share and to learn with and from each other, for all of us who are interested in languages.
We would like this online space to become a meeting point for teachers, learners and other professionals linked to languages and encourage and enable the creation of learning communities and share our passion for languages and cultures.
Things to do after joining ;o)
1. Please have a look around and familiarise yourself with the structure and content of our online community space.
2. Remember to check out the netiquette too.
3. Upload a photograph of yourself within your 'My Page' and write a few things about yourself you would like to share with the community. Include information about your love for languages, how it all started, what you are doing currently and your goals.
4. It would be great to start writing a blog about your language teaching/learning and share your experiences with other likeminded individuals.
5. You are very welcome to upload/link photographs and videos. Please make sure that you have the permission of people shown and avoid images that promote agressive behaviour, hate and smoking. Any offensive images/videos will be removed.
Please post your questions within the relevant discussions or create a new one if needed. Thanks.

The biennial ¡Vamos! festival was a great success. To my knowledge, at least two members of Languages Alive attended at least one of the events and thoroughly enjoyed them. I particularly enjoyed the music and meeting lots of different Spanish speakers. I met a couple from Bolivia who were in NE England visiting their son and meeting their delightful new grandson for the first time. Attending such events as ¡Vamos! is a really good way to meet native speakers of the language you are learning so… Continue
The 15th of May is the feast day of San Isidro, patron saint of Madrid. The people of Madrid
gather in the streets and celebrate en masse. The festival features
all the traditional trimmings of Iberian ferias: traditional costumes,
parades, bullrunning, bullfights, and so on. The festivities will
take many different forms but it will all be happening in the streets
of Madrid, with a procession to mount San Isidro preceding the grand
finale of the festival. The feast… Continue
This is another blog I have found relating to learning a language. If anyone else finds any, please upload the links so we can share. I liked the one about a motorbike ride to Peru and Bolivia and there are some intriguing blogs about travels in Thailand, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Turkey... have a read yourselves.
Found this and hope you will follow the link, have a look and let me know if you find it useful too. Similarly, if you come across any good websites or blogs, feel free to add them to our 'Bookmarks' section and post your comments on here too. http://www.transparent.com/spanish/Continue
